• Carolina carries living items that are classified as pathogens and require special handling.
  • There are two kinds of Pathogens: Human & Plant.
  • Orders containing pathogens must include:
    • Recipient’s first and last name.
    • A street address, not just a building name and number.
      • The department will not ship without recipient name and street address.

Human Pathogens

• Item comments are attached to all pathogens and absolutely must be checked.
• Human pathogens must ship via FedEx unless otherwise stated in item comments.
• Human pathogens can only be sold and shipped to:
  • Colleges
  • Community colleges
  • Universities
  • Teaching hospitals
• Human pathogen CANNOT be sold and shipped to:
  • Commercial businesses
  • Individuals
  • Any educational institution below college level
