Some manufacturers will ship some microscopes with eyepieces that need to be mounted by the end user. In most models, there is a locking set screw on the eyepiece tube that will be screwed in partially. The unit will come with a small Allen Wrench packed in the dust cover bag.
Take the Allen Wrench and loosen the Allen Screw slightly. Do not remove the Screw. Once you have backed the screw out slightly, insert the eyepiece and then lightly tighten the screw so that the eyepiece is now locked in to prevent loss.

Eyepiece will be packed inside foam box. If you try to mount the eyepiece before using the Allen Wrench to loosen the screw, the eyepiece will not fit. Use the Allen Wrench to slightly loosen the screw and insert the eyepiece into the tube. Then lightly tighten the screw to secure the eyepiece.

Locked on and ready to use.
