- The lab has been submitted by the student or closed for grading by Instructor. A yellow pop up will appear when opening the resource notifying the student that it is in a “read-only” state. Students can interact with all the features and answer questions, but the progress is not retained in the Carolina platform (Gateway). The remedy is for the instructor to re-open the lab, this action is for the entire class. If an individual student has submitted their lab, the instructor may need to close the assignment for grading first (entire class) and then re-open (entire class) to un-submit and make the lab active again for the student to progress.

Keep in mind that students only need to submit in our platform if
1) You are grading in our platform, and
2) Their work needs to be graded before the due date (before it is closed for the entire class).
- The browser was left open but the resource has timed out or internet was disrupted. If the lab has been left idle for over 15 minutes it is recommended to “save and exit” and then re-open the lab to insure that it is active and retaining data.
- A lab is opened in a second device or window. This will cause confusion with saving data, there can only be one active lab at a time that is saving data.
