Q: What is supposed to be included in my kit?

A: The packing list that includes your kit contents is sent to your instructor for them to upload to your online course portal.

 

Q: I’m missing items in my kit, how do I get those items replaced?

Q: Where are the lab manuals? How do I access my manuals?

A: Your instructor chooses how you access your lab manuals. Please contact your instructor for specific access instructions.

 

Q: I have contaminated or broken plates, or my bacteria is not growing, what do I need to do next?

Q: My box says to refrigerate upon arrival, what exactly needs to be refrigerated?

A: Depending on the investigations your instructor has included in your kit; you may have some or all the following materials that should be refrigerated upon arrival:

  • MSA Agar Plate, Levine EMB Agar Plate, MacConkey Agar Plate
    • These plates are packed together and wrapped in bubble wrap
  • Tryptic Soy Broth tubes, box of 10
  • Tryptic Soy Plates, Pack of 10
  • TSI Slants, Pack of 3
    • These plates are packed together and wrapped in bubble wrap
  • Tryptic Soy Agar Slant, Pack of 4 (Reactivation materials for Lyophilized culture)
  • Tryptic Soy Broth Tube, Pack of 4 (Reactivation materials for Lyophilized culture)
  • Kirby Bauer Method Disk Set
  • Lysome Disk Set
  • Nutrient broth tubes
