How do I get grades to transfer automatically to my LMS?

Grades that you record in the assignment gradebook in the CSO environment transfer automatically to the assignment in your LMS gradebook. 

• Log in to your course in your learning management system (LMS). 
• Click on the Carolina Science Online tool from the list of content available to you in the left side menu. This will open a new tab that takes you to your home page on the CSO website. 
  • If this tool is not visible, go to “Settings” then the “Navigation” tab and make the tool visible on your teacher dashboard. 
  • Your LMS administrator may have named the tool something other than what is given in these directions. 

• The first time you access CSO through your course, it will ask you to log in with your LMS credentials. You will not need to take this step in subsequent sessions. 
• You will arrive at the home page of your CSO teacher account. Click “Assignments” from the left side menu. 
• Click the assignment you wish to grade from the assignments list. This opens the dashboard for this assignment. 
• In the bottom half of the dashboard is the assignment gradebook. Find the student whose assignment you wish to enter a grade. 

• Click the blue “Grade” button in the Grade column for that student and enter a score. 
• You can verify the grade passed back to your LMS gradebook by opening your LMS gradebook and checking for the score.
  • There is a button in the assignment dashboard in CSO that says “Close for grading”. This button does NOT need to be selected to trigger grade syncing to your LMS.
